Soft, creamy, and naturally rich in protein and fibre, our organic butter beans (also known as lima beans) are perfect for soups, stews, and salads. A versatile plant-based staple that adds substance and nutrition to any meal.

Dried beans - great value and easy to use.
Dried beans are pure value and zero waste. Once soaked and cooked, they expand to around two and a half to three times their original weight - so 100g of dried beans makes roughly 250–300g of cooked beans, about the same as a full can or jar’s worth. You get more for your money, less packaging, and complete control over texture, salt, and flavour - all while cutting out cans, jars and additives.
You can also cook dried beans straight from dry in a pressure cooker or Instant Pot - no soaking needed. They’ll be tender and ready in around 25–35 minutes, depending on the variety.

Hob Method (Recommended)
1. Soak beans overnight in plenty of cold water (8–12 hours).
2. Drain and rinse thoroughly before cooking.
3. Add beans to a large pan with fresh water (about 1 cup beans to 3 cups water).
4. Boil briskly for 10 minutes - this is essential to destroy the natural toxin phytohaemagglutinin.
5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer gently for 45–60 minutes until tender.
6. Drain and use as desired.
⚠️ Important: Never cook kidney beans in a slow cooker from raw — they must be boiled first.
Pressure Cooker / Instant Pot (No Soaking Needed)
1. Add 1 cup dried beans + 3 cups water to the pot.
2. Cook on high pressure for 30–35 minutes, then allow natural release.
3. Drain and use.
(If soaked beforehand, reduce cooking time to 10–12 minutes.)
Serving Ideas
Perfect for chilli con carne, stews, burrito fillings, and hearty salads. Combine with grains like rice or quinoa for a complete plant-based protein.
