About us
refill.shop was started by two dads, Paul (L) and Mark (R) - we have small children and want to make a better world for them and the rest of their generation.
The world has a huge plastic and other packaging waste problem.
For years we've all been told that if we just recycle it'll be ok, and if it's not it's because we didnt recycle hard enough.
Nonsense.
We believe plastic waste is not a packaging problem - it is a system problem.
People need better options, and that's what we aim to give you.

Innovation in zero waste
We're the evolution of the circular supermarket startup weekly.shop. We're the same team and have spent spent two years developing, testing and refining a closed loop refill and reuse system at our CleanFill Hub in Battersea in London.
The system, built with backing from Innovate UK, features multiple category leading innovations in cleaning, labelling, tracking and filling reusables to fulfil circular groceries.
weekly.shop delivered full basket groceries, zero waste to local customers. To date we've made thousands of deliveries, and saved over 20,000 items of packaging waste.
We were constantly asked about delivering to customers further afield - and that's why we've evolved into refill.shop.

Refill through the post!?
For a while now, we've been working on washable plastic bags as an alternative to heavy glass and expensive stainless steel, testing materials such as TPU, PEVA and heavy gauge HDPE.
Solving this has opened a huge opportunity to fight plastic waste at scale - refill through the post!
The bags are washed, labelled and filled by the reuse sytem we've already built, with packaging returned to us by reusable envelope.
Now we can finally deliver to customers who aren't in the delivery catchment for our weekly.shop hub.
